Macaw adventure is a new Peruvian project (Pariamanu Macaw project) Ecotourism Company founded in 1998 with the purpose of combining tourism with environmental education, research sustainable development to support the conservation of the areas where we operate

Our two lodge's macaw jungle lodge and mammal blind lodge built in the rainforest in the pariamanu area reflect our philosophy. Which is one built in the middle especially for the mammal and macaw clay lick protection because they are endangered for the hunting pressure and on extinction?

An macaw adventure tour will take you to the peaceful setting of pariamanu macaw project, 40 minute flight from Cusco to Pto Maldonado and 5 to 9 hours up river trip river from Pto Maldonado visiting 3 different rivers like Madre de dios, piedras and Pariamanu river a private reserve copleted with camping facilities with optional macaw jungle lodge and numerous trails to explore.

The reserve is a free of any hunting pressure and has a network of trails which are open to tourists, main high lights of the tour is the macaw clay lick and the mammal clay lick which allows visitors to get close to some of charismatic animals such as macaws monkeys, deer paca, wild pigs and the normally shy and elusive tapir. In additions to these mammals, many rarely sighted birds also visit these clay licks

Pariamanu Macaw project have been lodging tourists and researches since 1994 watching the symbiosis between conscientious quality ecotourism and scientific research come to life

Studies indicate that the forest clearing has been diminished since ecotourism became an important activity for the community communicate members now discuss strategies to protect the giant river otters at the lake to control poaching in the community's private reserve and to control access to the mammal and macaw clay licks .

Sustainable industries such as handicrafts have emerged. The community and its leaders are now viewed as viable receptors of technical or government cooperation for educational, health our infrastructure projects. Economic impacts includes the creation of 15 jobs for community members; the purchase of handicrafts, farm produce, or construction materials; and the profit from the lodge

Finally and most important, the community and its leaders have gained momentum and are now more dynamic in their decision making processes and the execution of their decisions.
